このプロダクトは廃材を利用したワークショップ(Notcho’sWorkshop主催/GREENDAY2009）で産声をあげ、ロハスデザイン大賞2009など、幾つかの参加型ワークショップを経て誕生しました。
After a workshop that uses reclaimed materials, (Notcho’sWorkshop hosted/ GREENDAY2009) put the word out initially, many workshops responded, including the winner of the LOHAS Design Award 2009, and have participated in its creation.

Bird Echo is made using fine woods and materials used to produce furniture, such as maple and walnut. Currently, they are being handcrafted one by one by a furniture factory in Fuchuu, Hiroshima.
付属のヤスリを使って好きな形に削ってみたり、ペイントすることで、世界に※一羽だけのBIRD ECHOになります。
Using the supplied sandpaper, you can create your desired shape, and with paint, customize your BIRD ECHO for only one bird in the whole world.*

もともとはヨーロッパで鳥寄せとして狩猟の時に使われていた道具です。
また近年では、鳥を観察する道具として多くの野鳥ファンに使用されてます。

Originally a tool used in Europe to attract birds when hunting, in recent years has been used by fans of garden birds when bird watching. (For more territorial birds, it is common to use the call of a different bird to attract the target in defense.)
